Purpose
The Chancellor’s Cabinet includes senior administrative and academic leadership. Members discuss major campus initiatives and strategic or emerging issues facing the campus and the UC system.
Background
The Cabinet is advisory to the Chancellor and provides an opportunity for the campus senior leadership team to:
- Provide input to the Chancellor in the development of their vision to guide the campus, and their goals and initiatives
- Discuss strategic and current critical issues facing the campus—in particular, the Cabinet provides an opportunity to discuss matters in a context in which interrelationships among academic and academic support divisions can be explored
- Provide input and advice that will inform campus policy decisions as well as the development of campus-wide consultation processes
- Provide an opportunity for principal officers to give updates or presentations on the principal projects, goals, and key issues facing their division or the campus as a whole, including requests for input and advice on strategy
- Receive assignments from the Chancellor, including those that involve multiple academic and administrative divisions and have campus-wide impact. The Chancellor sets the agenda and uses the group to obtain advice and to assign specific responsibility as a result of discussions
